Why Do You Make Music?
This is a guest post written by Adegoke Omotayo, also known as Tmax. Rap Artiste, also he’s an undergraduate of Bells University of Technology, Ota Ogun State Nigeria.
“I’d rather die enormous than live dormant”.
This quote, in the context it was originally used, might seem to contradict my opinion on the subject i’m addressing, but I’m free to relate to it from any dimension I wish to.
To me, You don’t have to be mad rich and own all the maddest cribs and whips before you live/die enormous, being at peace with yourself is more important. I woke up this morning reminiscing, wondering why I spent the last couple of years being depressed and frustrated that I could not get penned and my CD was being turned down like exam sheets before starting time, reason why I made that video (link below).
I am off that now though and I’m cool with my present mind state. I feel like every upcoming artiste irrespective of genre or style should be able to ask themselves and answer the question “why do I really make music” am I driven by my lust for money and fame? or by my passion and love for the game? with that said, this should take nothing away from your ambition but most importantly should help you kick the depression.
Keep Grinding…, Tell Yourself …….”AMOSHINE WHEN AMOSHINE” . LOL Peace.
