Top 5 Music Videos For July
It’s no doubt that Music videos are more intense and captivate you than you already have. Running through the year we’ve heard a lot of good music, and the month of JULY blessed us with what we can say unarguably some of the best videos so far this year.
We had a run on all the videos that was released in the month of July and we would like to share with you, our favourites. Check out our Top 5 music videos for July, in no particular order.
1. 6ix9ine – FEFE Ft. Nicki Minaj
Controversial rapper,6ix9ine joined forces with the Young Money princess Nicki Minaj on the brand new song called “FEFE”.
Tekashi and Nicki take things back to their childhood days for a bizarre opening scene featuring the two playing a game of Patty Cake on the balloon-filled set. The 22-year-old kicks his verse off laced in a cheetah print top and some pink shorts. Murda Beatz, who co-produced the tune, also makes a short cameo holding a heavy-duty water gun.
Nicki seductively reintroduces herself shortly after the one-minute mark, confidently shouting out 6ix9ine’s Treyway gang. She slows down her flow for a refreshing approach during the extended cameo. The couple sit face-to-face once again and give each other’s ice cream a taste with their arms interlocked.
We must say, this is one of the most colorful videos we’ve seen this year, you might wanna check it out. The video was directed by TrifeDrew & William Asher of Figure Eight Creative Group and also co-directed by 6ix9ine
2. DJ Khaled – No Brainer Ft. Justin Bieber, Chance The Rapper & Quavo
DJ Khaled reunites once again Justin Bieber, Chance The Rapper and Quavo. on the Song titled “No Brainer”
The three featured artists on ‘No Brainer’ also appeared on ‘I’m The One’, the smash single from last year alongside Lil Wayne which is already certified 5X platinum. “No Brainer” is believed to be the second single off the superstar producer’s upcoming album, Father of Asahd.
In the video, DJ Khaled plays a director that’s heading up a project starring Bieber (who dances on a car and in front of a green screen), Chance (who’s hatless and lookin’ sharp in a blazer), and Quavo (who is a master painter-in-the-making). DJ Khaled’s son, Asahd, even makes a cameo.
The clip’s director is Boy in the Castle Productions’ Colin Tilley, known for his work on the visuals for DJ Khaled and Rihanna’s “Wild Thoughts” and the Grammy-nominated “Alright” from Kendrick Lamar. This is super clean, its a must watch!
3. Nicki Minaj – Bed Ft. Ariana Grande
Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande has never failed us, they both reunite on the song called “BED” Nicki goes into full mermaid mode in the Hype Williams-directed clip, donning green hair and a fishtail on the shore to deliver her verses from the Queen single.
In the last 30 seconds of the video, the action inexplicably and briefly jumps to a city where Minaj is seen jumping into a Lyft, only for “Bed” to return immediately back to the beach (with cameos by New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and the team’s former punter Brad Wing).
“Waiting for you on some thousand-dollar sheets,” Nicki raps in the video as she scowls into the sunset, alternately modeling a flowing turquoise swim cover-up, a sheer white jumpsuit, some Beats by Dre headphones, and a My Little Pony one-piece, adorned with two huge necklaces that spell “QUEEN,”. Watch below.
4. Drake – Nonstop
We must say this is yet another video that made the cut for the Month of July. Drake kicks things off with behind-the-scenes footage from his electric surprise set at London’s Wireless Festival. Drake switches the scene of the black-and-white shot visual to a cozy nightclub accompanied by hip-hop socialite French Montana, Migos frontman Quavo, and reliable in-house producer OVO 40.
This time Drake recruits his go-to director, Karena Evans to deliver this 5 minutes of awesome session. Watch below.
5. Jeremih & Ty Dolla Sign – The Light
We Jeremih and Ty Dolla Sign’s upcoming joint album MihTy is certainly on our list of the most anticipated projects of this year.
But before that, The R&B crooners combined forces for the official music video for their first single ‘The Light’.
The video doesn’t have the sex appeal of the audio but still manages to attract our attention with its old school feel and smooth choreography.
In the video, Ty Dolla $ign and Jeremih lean into the nostalgic, good-time aspect of the Keni Burke-sampling record with a dance party in front of a roller rink and a pretty good skate party inside, too. You might want to check it out.
There we go, till next month, we can’t wait to share our favorite clips for the month of August. Watch this space.
